About Michael
My path to the insurance industry is an unusual one. I am originally from Chicago and graduated from Columbia College. I then attended the Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago and Dumas Pere School of French Cooking where I studied in the Beaujolais region of France.
After working for 13 years as a chef and operations manager for multiple hotels, restaurants, and country clubs, I decided it was time for a career change. With help from a financial planner friend, I made the jump to property and casualty insurance focusing on insurance and risk management for the hospitality industry, and quickly earned my Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
I’ve now been working in insurance and risk management for over 15 years, with 10 of those being at Farmer Woods Group. I love utilizing my past and current career experience to help clients in the hospitality industry and other areas reach their risk management goals.
