About Derek
I joined Leavitt Recreation and Hospitality because they provided me the opportunity to work with family in a rapidly growing and exciting industry. I love being surrounded by amazing mentors who can help me learn all the ins and outs. Prior to working in insurance, I was a welder and fabricator for three years.
My insurance focus is on campgrounds, RV parks, retail archery shops/ranges, and hunting lodges. I am a great listener and do my best to learn every detail about my clients. They appreciate that I communicate directly and get right to the point while making sure all their assets are covered.
I’m a member of TACO, Young Professionals, and ARVC and love being involved in my community.
I grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota and loved spending time in the outdoors with my brother and dad. My favorite pastimes are hunting with family and friends on the South Dakota prairies, wake surfing on Angostura Lake, and staying active in the gym.
