Heather Shelton

I have a long history of hard work, management, sales, and strong business relationships. My mother was an insurance underwriter and my father owned a trucking company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was there I found my love for all things transportation and logistics. He would take me on loads and leave me at the guard gates where the ladies would teach me bill of ladings and fuel surcharge rates while he unloaded. I began dispatching at the bright young age of 10 and calculating IFTA (no ELD back then) with Rand McNally Tripmaker and Fuelman receipts. 

After working in various operations management positions for 13 years, I began my insurance career in 2018. My main focus is transportation, contractors, and manufacturers. I joined Leavitt Group in 2019 because of the nurturing environment. I have had the advantage to learn, freedom to grow, and empowerment from leadership to move forward with no limit in sight.

I put a lot of time and energy into ensuring my clients understand their insurance. There are many details when it comes to policies and coverage and my goal is to build a solid foundation of knowledge with them. Anyone can put a price on a policy—my objective is for my clients to know what they are covered for, what they are missing, and to be happy with their choice to work with Leavitt Group Northwest.
