I’ve been in the insurance industry just shy of 40 years and have worked in nearly all areas aside from claims. I started with Allstate in their regional operation center. It was my first exposure to insurance and I went home in tears the first several days, wondering why I ever thought insurance was a good choice, never imagining that I would make a career out of it. It was the best “mistake” I’ve ever made. I became an independent agent in 1994 and really enjoy working with our clients. 

What’s been most helpful in my career is that I have worked both sides of the business. Being an independent agent affords me the opportunity to work for my clients, not a single insurance company. I also work with the most amazing group of people – we work together, not for each other. I feel that my best asset is making my customers feel like each one is my favorite (they are!). 

I’ve lived most of my life in Washington State, aside from four years in Oregon. I’m married with three children and six grandchildren. We have two dogs (boxers) who are so fun and far more well behaved than any of our children were! We enjoy boating on Lake Washington and watching sports of all kinds. My favorite restaurant is Wally’s – they have the best fish and chips.
