Leavitt Great West Insurance’s Tribute Captive program received the 2023 Berkley Edge Excellence in Health Risk Management award at the 2023 Berkley Captive Symposium in April. This award is given to outstanding Stop Loss Group Captive programs that have shown superior health risk management and innovative practices. Group Captive programs allow small and midsize companies to come together to gain control over healthcare costs, experience less volatility, and offer sustainable employee benefits. The Tribute Captive program was one of two programs nationwide to receive this award, thanks to the hard work of both the program members and Leavitt Great West’s team.

Recipients are selected from among all of Berkley Accident and Health’s programs for their continual dedication to health risk strategies that help achieve high-quality, affordable employee healthcare. Their activities have resulted in surplus funds returned to their program, due to lower claim costs. These returned funds directly benefit not only the employers in the program, but also their covered employees, through lower healthcare costs.

“We were happy to select two outstanding programs for the Berkley Edge Excellence in Health Risk Management award this year,” said Brad Nieland, President and CEO of Berkley Accident and Health. “Both the Captivated Health Education and Engineering Program and the Tribute Program have demonstrated tremendous innovation and savings in their programs and we couldn’t be more pleased to recognize their success.”
