At Leavitt Great West Insurance, we believe peace of mind comes from achieving your desired quality of life, reaching financial success, and preparing for life’s uncertainties. That’s why our way of life is focused on enhancing and protecting yours.
—Mike Taylor, Co-Owner
The Leavitt Group has a long history in Montana, most notably over the last decade with Taylor Leavitt Insurance and Northern Montana Insurance operating in the state. These "sister" agencies developed wonderful working relationships and consistently leaned on one another for subject matter expertise and collaboration to meet and exceed client expectations.
Taylor Leavitt focused on oil and gas, construction, and workers compensation. Owned by Mike Taylor and Jay Jamieson, they operated locations in Billings, Bozeman and Livingston. Northern Montana Insurance was the premier agency for farm, ranch, crop, and alternative risk transfer programs (captives). It was owned by Pat Greany, Travis Clark, and Shawn Kraft with locations in Helena, Butte, Conrad, Choteau, Shelby, and Cut Bank.
Each agency had fantastic personal lines teams and a significant volume of personal clients. Recognizing the need to find professionals in the areas of life and health, both agencies developed a partnership with Mountain West Benefits, which was based in Helena and owned by Jim Edwards, Richard Miltenberger, and Shawn Samuelson.
Soon after these three firms began working closely together, it was clear that the best way to serve their clients was to solidify the partnerships by merging together. The decision was easy as it combined three outstanding, independent agencies and their mission of “Leaving Nothing You Value to Chance.” The merger was made official in early 2014 and the agencies were rebranded under the name Leavitt Great West Insurance Services.
Now lead by the ownership team of Jay Jamieson, Shawn Kraft, Travis Clark, Shawn Samuelson, and Mike Taylor, Leavitt Great West is proud to help perpetuate each previous owner’s legacy in the state of Montana. We are a full-service agency with subject matter leaders directing and growing in every department.
