About Mike
Mike Taylor is the managing partner of Leavitt Great West Insurance Services. Mike is committed to the betterment of the insurance industry and holds board positions on the Professional Insurance Agents (PIA), Montana State Fund Agency Partnership Committee, and the Leavitt Group Agency Association where he shares his ingenuity and leadership.
Mike began his insurance career with Western States Insurance (WSI) in 2003 as a commercial insurance advisor, where he also served on the Producer Advisory Council. He joined Leavitt Group in February 2010 as a managing partner and made an immediate positive impact. In 2013, Mike’s agency, Taylor Leavitt, was recognized as the “Agency of the Year” and additionally awarded the “Agency Excellence Award” within Leavitt Group. Leavitt Group’s Great West offices were formed when Taylor Leavitt Insurance Agency, Northern Montana Insurance Services, and Mountain West Benefits merged in 2014.
Mike consistently earns the “Chairman’s Circle Award,” which recognizes the top ten producers within Leavitt Group’s 250+ locations across the country. He was the PIA Western Alliance Agent of the Year in 2013, and was nationally recognized as a 2013 Business Insurance “40 Under 40 Regional Broker.” Mike has earned the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation.

Mike earned a degree in business from the University of Montana Western (UMW). He was inducted into the UMW Hall of Fame in 2011. During his time at UMW he was a three-year captain, three-time All-Conference athlete, a two-time All-American, an academic All-American, and a recipient of the National Football Foundation Montana Chapter Scholar Athlete Award. After graduating from UMW, Mike played three seasons in the Indoor Football League.
