Ted Rice

My personal motto is, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” I work every day to live my life by it.

Before entering the insurance industry in 2009, I had 20+ years in the construction industry and even owned a construction company. In 2012, I joined Leavitt Group because I respected their commitment to clients and their ability to access alternative risk transfer options. As a commercial risk manager, I am direct and transparent with my clients and maintain a commitment to stay ahead on education. My knowledge of programs, risk management, alternative options, and market conditions allows me to serve my clients the best I can.

I am an Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI), an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and a certified Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS). I also used to be a board member for the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

A native Oregonian, I grew up in Scappoose and attended Portland Community College, where I took classes focused on construction and real estate. My wife and I relocated to Boise with our two daughters, but I still travel between Leavitt Group’s offices in Boise and Portland. When I’m not working, I love hanging out on the river while fishing, or spending time in any remote location. I also enjoy skiing and hunting.
