Nasburg & Company Insurance and Huggins Insurance, both of Coos Bay, Oregon merged on March 31, 2015 to become Nasburg Huggins Insurance. At the same time we entered into an affiliation with Leavitt Group, one of the largest insurance brokerages in the nation.
The ties we share with the people of Southwestern Oregon began in 1906 for Nasburg & Company and 1919 for Huggins Insurance. Combining the two agencies and affiliating with Leavitt Group means that our clients can be assured of the perpetuation of the traditional values and excellent personal service both agencies are known for, with the added value of providing insurance and risk management resources on a national level. Leavitt Group's experience in insurance, risk management and employee benefits substantially increases our ability to serve our clients.
Bob Huggins, CIC, joined Huggins Insurance in 1977 after seven years in banking and at Safeco Insurance in Portland. In 1989, he purchased the agency, which was founded by his grandfather. Huggins served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Oregon, and is a Certified Insurance Counselor. He has been the executive director of the Prefontaine Memorial Run since 1980. Huggins is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in economics.
